AMP Earns Statewide Honors for Programs Serving Business Customers
ALAMEDA, CA – Alameda Municipal Power has received a first-place, statewide award for a program that helps island businesses save energy and money.
The California Municipal Utilities Association (CMUA) honored AMP’s Energy Plus program with a 2020 Resource Efficiency & Community Service Award. AMP received the award in the energy programs category for medium-sized utilities. CMUA’s awards competition recognizes community-owned utilities for outstanding projects advancing best practices and innovative ideas in the industry.
Energy Plus provides commercial customers with a one-stop shop and substantial rebates for lighting, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning upgrades. Depending on the retrofit, the rebates can cover up to 90% of the project cost for participating businesses.
“AMP thanks its business customers for participating in Energy Plus and ensuring its success,” AMP General Manager Nico Procos said. “We are thrilled by the opportunity to help customers save money and protect the environment.”
