COVID-19 Update
Dear AMP customer:
Amid ongoing concern about the coronavirus COVID-19, Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our customers and our employees. We understand the concern you may be experiencing during this public health crisis, and we want to be responsive and flexible to our customers’ needs.
Keeping the lights on is AMP’s top priority. To help slow the spread of the virus and limit the risk of our own employees, many of our employees are being asked to work from home. Please be aware that our response times to your inquiries may be slower as a result.
However, our front-line employees will continue to be in the community ensuring that the power stays on. We are asking employees who have direct customer contact in the field to take social distancing precautionary measures.
AMP is taking additional precautions:
- AMP has closed its Service Center at 2000 Grand Street to the public. Our customer service team is available by phone Mondays-Thursdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- For the fastest level of service, we strongly encourage you to access your account online at alamedamp.com or by calling AMP’s automated phone service at 510-748-3900. Both services are available 24/7 for account inquiries and credit/debit card payments. You may also drop your payment in the payment box in AMP’s Service Center parking lot. Cash payments can be made at Mail Boxes Plus, 2532 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda.
- To help with potential financial challenges due to COVID-19, AMP is assisting residential and commercial customers with their bills by suspending service disconnections for non-payment. If you're facing financial hardship, we urge you to call our customer service team at 510-748-3900.
- AMP has suspended all residential and commercial energy audits until further notice.
Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by COVID-19. AMP will continue to closely monitor this rapidly evolving situation and provide relevant updates through our website at www.alamedamp.com. For more information on city-wide efforts, please visit https://www.alamedaca.gov.
Sincerely,
Nico Procos
