Power Restored to Bay Farm Island Neighborhood
The Planned Power Outage repairs in a neighborhood on Bay Farm Island have been completed as of 2:18 pm and the system is operating normally. Repairs were necesary after an equipment failure on the evening of January 15th. About 125 customers were affected. On the morning of January 17, 2012, Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) determined that repairs needed to be made immediately to a small section of our distribution system on Bay Farm Island that delivers electricity to selected homes. The repair work was necessary to replace equipment damaged in the Sunday, January 15, 2012 service interruption. AMP workers were required to shut off electricity at the meters/homes during the repair work, that began at approximately 11am. The streets affected included: Azaela, Begonia, Dahlia, Gardenia Terrace, Island, and Camelia.
