AMP Website Temporarily Down

Alameda, Calif.—Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) announced today that its website was compromised on May 2 and links to outside sites were inserted within its web pages. The links were found and immediately removed from the AMP website. No sensitive data was compromised as all customer data is located on a separate in-house secure server.

All website search engines are utilizing AMP web pages that were created previous to that date, resulting in users being redirected to non-AMP sites. This is why the message “This site may be compromised” is still showing up on Google searches. AMP is working with the search engines to clear this. At this time AMP does not have an estimate of when this message will be removed.
Earlier today, an unrelated technical issue arose during a routine backup of the system, causing the site to go down. AMP is working to restore the system as soon as possible.
