AMP and CASA to Host Free Lighting Workshop on Feb. 27
ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) and Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda (CASA) are sponsoring a free workshop on lighting options for the home on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Community Room A/B of the Alameda Main Library, 1550 Oak St., Alameda. Participants will learn about lighting options that may decrease their energy bill and increase their comfort and well-being from lighting wizard Stan Walercyzk. Stan will teach community members how to read lighting lables and calculate energy use of many common lighting products, including incandescent, halogen, flourescent, compact flourescent, and newer LED technology. Stan Walercyzk is an instructor for the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui. He has over 24 years of experience in lighting design, turnkey retrofit contracting, distribution, maintenance, and energy efficiency regulations. Stan has completed over 500 lighting projects for a variety of facilities including colleges, hospitals, convention centers, movie studios, libraries, factories, retail stores, historic commercial buildings multi-family dwellings and single-family houses.
