AMP Begins Restoration of 684 Historic Streetlights

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) today announced that the utility will begin restoration in early May of 684 historic streetlights located throughout the city. Up to 60 streetlights per week will be refurbished until the project is completed this summer.

Streets affected include Lincoln, Buena Vista, Central, Encinal, Broadway, High, Santa Clara, Marina, Windsor, Cambridge, Eagle, 2nd and Grand. To maintain effective lighting levels, AMP will only work on two non-adjacent streetlights per block at a time. Each streetlight will be restored within five working days.

Nearby residents and businesses will receive written notice approximately 48 hours in advance when the historic streetlights in their neighborhood will be refurbished.
