The Rebate Process

Know Your Usage - Schedule a Free Energy Audit

The first step in the rebate process is to get familiar with your energy use by scheduling a free energy audit.  This will enable you to get the maximum benefit and value from your new solar PV system.  The capacity (and cost) of your system should be tailored to your energy use.

Complete the Application

After the energy audit, you will be an informed consumer and better prepared to hire a qualified solar PV installation professional.

Working with your solar installer, complete and submit the Solar PV Rebate Application , along with the Interconnection Agreement .  Upon application approval, you will have 180 days to begin construction in order to retain your position in the rebate queue.

Be Part of a Team

From first consideration to rebate check disbursal, installation of your solar PV system is a cooperative partnership resulting in a greener future for Alameda.  This table illustrates the way that you, the customer, work with your contractor, the City of Alameda, and AMP to get your installation done right.
