STATE SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC PROGRAM CHARGE
Purpose
State Senate Bill (SB1) mandates all California utilities to offer rebates for the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on customers’ premises. Under the law, Alameda Municipal Power is required to offer, over a 10-year period, $4,200,000 in rebates to customers installing solar PV systems. This charge will collect funds to pay for the solar program rebates.
Applicability
This charge is applied to all kilowatt-hours (kWh) for all Alameda Municipal Power customers except low income customers taking service under the Energy Assistance Program (Rider EA) or the Medical Discount Program (Rider MD), and service under Outdoor Street and Area Lighting (Schedule OL), Municipal Electric Service – Street Lighting (Schedule MU-2), and Municipal Electric Service – Except Street Lighting (Schedule MU-1).
