Alamedanet e-mail service update

ALAMEDA, Calif., March 24, 2008 —On Friday, March 21, Alameda Power & Telecom was informed of a third-party service issue that had potential effects to AlamedaNET e-mail services.

During routine system maintenance, a programming error may have caused e-mail messages and folders for some customers to become temporarily inaccessible.

Prior to initiating maintenance, the system had been backed up, and restoration began at 4:00 a.m. Friday.  The e-mail system resumed full functionality later in the morning.  However, due to the large amount of data to be restored, the restoration process is expected to continue through Monday morning, March 24.

It is possible that some new mail that was delivered during a period from 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon to 4:00 a.m. Friday morning was lost.  While this issue has been resolved and steps have been taken to assure that this circumstance cannot be duplicated, Alameda Power & Telecom recommends that AlamedaNET customers expecting incoming e-mail during this period check with prospective senders.

Alameda Power & Telecom appreciates the importance and value placed on AlamedaNET e-mail service.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.  If you have any questions, please call us at 1-888-207-0204.
